e-chu-ta aka newimage58 aka vacuum_dis! has been recasting AP's helmet and suit. Each time he changes IDs, you notice the same "tells" in the photos of his pulls. Some costumers are calling his stuff the "VT" helmets (VT = Vacuum This).

I have confirmation from AP that this was indeed a recast.

The New image guy looks to be another/different fellow. That helmet is FG, whereas echuta/VT does his from CAPs old vac moulds. So they would be plastic.

They've use the same promotional photos, so I would suggest that the material used is irrelevant to identity.
Who is CAP by the way?

CAP is "Wiebes". The bloke who created the DIY forums, and recast AP, TE, TE2, Keith, and I'm sure more to follow. He sold his old moulds to VT which then sells them on ebay. However VT/echta always displays them as vac'd kits or vac'd helmets that are assembled. I've never seen him put up a FG copy for sale, which is why I think newimage is another guy.. there are so many on the bay nowerdays

Yeah pretty much what i said over on the rpf newimages helmet is fibreglass the VT one is vac formed it's not irrelevent because aside from being different materials the production of the helmets are two entirely different processes. I've never seen newimage offer a vac formed kit ever. Either way they are both recasts just by different people.

At least know what your talking about.
CAP is TE before TE2. TE2 has never been cast.
VT is thin ABS AP, CAP first molds yes. Mic tips are SDS.

At least know what your talking about. As blind as you are to these things. You should take your own advice. TE never made/sold copies of the *damaged* bumpy cap back then when CAP was buying. I know, I got one, and it is completely flawless WITHOUT the damage. Only when the HDPE helmets came out did Matt try and restore a copy (or a recast TE2) of the mould. The mould held up for a while, but degenerated at it weakest points after numerouse pulls, mainly the covered up damage area, leaving the mould damage once again exposed. I have seen the pics of the moulds. I have only ever seen a TE2 or post '07 TE with the damage. Never before then.. When CAP was a recastin'. So yes, take your advice and know what your talking about.

How would you know fon?
CAP HAS NEVER CAST TE2.
YOUR WRONG.
Hate me, bash me... what ever... But your wrong.
CAP cast AP, never sold it. Did not like it.
Gave molds to VT. VT is not New Image. I have no idea who that is.
CAP cast TE armor PRIOR to TE2. TE armor DID ship with a bumpy cap. There are 2 sets of molds. Bumpy and smooth.
Oh hell while we are at it.
CAP had a deal with TE to be "blessed" as Gino calls it. The deal was for some suits and helmets that TE sold as his own later on. TE is said to have cast the suit. This is the basis for the "new" TE that is said to be on the way. Recast CAP armor that is Recast TE.
TE is to have the last part of his order shipped this spring.
If there is one good guy in this mess of crap its TE2.

So your saying the new ROTJ suits are recast CAP? I figured he recast an old ROTJ set, but certainly not a cap.
As I said, I know they came with a bumpy cap. I got one at around the same time... No damage, go figure.

I agree. TE2 is an amazing guy, with not a blemish on his character.
I don't understand why you would think I see it differently? Because I perseve it as "CAP also recast a TE2 helmet at some point"? To me, the only bad guy in that situation is CAP IMO.
If that deal is true, then Matt is selling his soul for pennies, and completely muddying up the waters as far as what is right and wrong.
I cannot see how rules can get propperly established concerning mould ownership with what goes on behind the scenes. One minute a persons a recaster, the next they're cool. Its a joke. A line has to be drawn somewhere. The "rights" should go WITH the moulds, not as a paid status. Either Gino can provide decent info to prove he has paid and has full rights, or it would be left with Guns. I don't know how else we can filter through the shades of grey.

That would mean that RT-Mod is also a recaster since he recast the TE faceplate, then worked out a deal with Matt too. And were does that leave Laws? But the CAP/TE deal is true. TE even signed and sold some of the helmets from the deal on the FISD. The most famous is the pink Ms. TE helmet that you said was one of the best examples of a helmet that you had ever seen. And to stay on topic, nerimage58 and VT/e-chu-ta/vacuum_dis are not the same person. Newimage58 is in the UK, and VT is in California.

Last grumblings I read on the TE armor to be released is that it is ANH. Dont know if it is ROTJ. TE may still have ROTJ molds. I quit following a while back.
Sick of one mans 3rd gen being worse than another though.

Sorry, what does this mean? Are we referring to CAP as an individual? Do you mean that CAP was making helmets before TE2 arrived on the scene?
